Kadicat ("we," "us," or "our") is an independent, ad-free learning platform developed and operated by a solo developer. We are unaffiliated with any large tech corporations or private equity firms. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our website and services (the "Service").

We take your privacy seriously and collect only the minimal data necessary to provide a great learning experience.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address (required) and optional full name (for display purposes only, such as in your profile or shared curriculums).
User-Generated Content: Your flashcards, lessons, curriculums, progress data, review history (used for FSRS personalization), and any other content you create.
Usage Data: Aggregated analytics via Vercel Analytics (our hosting provider) to understand site performance and improve the Service. This may include anonymized page views, device info, and referral sources, but no personal identifiers are tied to it.
No Other Data: We do not collect payment information (Kadicat is a free service), IP addresses for tracking, or any sensitive personal data.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the Service (e.g., authentication, storing your learning progress, personalizing spaced repetition with FSRS based on your review history).
To improve user experience and the platform (e.g., analyzing where users struggle to enhance features).

All usage data is tied to your personal account for personalization only—we do not anonymize it further or use it for advertising/marketing.

We do not sell, share, trade, or transfer your personal data to third parties, except as required by law.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on our own infrastructure and/or on servers provided by Contabo (a VPS host).
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure.

4. Third-Party Services

Vercel: Hosts our frontend and provides basic analytics. See Vercel's Privacy Policy for details on their data practices.
No other third-party tracking or analytics tools are used.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Our Service is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with information, contact us to request deletion.

6. Your Rights

You own your content (lessons, flashcards, curriculums).
You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data at any time.
To delete your account: Log in and use the account deletion feature. Your data will be permanently deleted after 30 days (for recovery purposes).

Data may be stored/processed in the United States (Florida-based operation) or other locations via our infrastructure providers. We comply with applicable laws for transfers.

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Material changes will be notified to you via a prominent popup or banner the next time you log in to the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
